RENO, NV (Jan. 18) — Reno Cars & Coffee held its second meet of the month the Sunday.
Good weather highlighted a strong turn out of cars and some trucks. Not to mention a lot of people checking out the cars.
There were a pair of exotics that drew their share of attention. One of them was a McLaren Artura.
Not far away was an was a Lamborghini that also drew its share of on lookers.
In the mix were several American cars to admire. One of them was a very polished Camaro.
Not only was the car shined but its motor was chromed and polished was well.
As usual in a line there was some contrast as well. Parked at the end of a Corvette line was a stock Toyota compact owned by Bob Salz.
Asked about his car he said, “We’re looking at a 1966/67 Toyota Corona. It was bought August First 1966 but with depreciation back then they made it a ’67. It’s got a 1900 cc engine with a two-speed Toyoglide Transmission fashioned after the Chevy Powerglide.
“My parents painted it and upholstered as my mother had to slide out since it was parked next to a wall. Other than that, just normal maintainance.
He added the car has 73 thousand miles on it and while the block has never been taken apart there may have been some work done on the transmission. He’s also put some stock suspension parts on the car,…
