SPARKS, NV (Jan. 25) — Despite the cold morning one of the largest turnouts happened today. Some was due to the recruiting effort by Ed Hughes who helped bring in a bunch of right hand drive cars.

They formed two rows and Gie Rod contributed this picture of both rows. Have to give special thanks to him.

One of the more interesting, and largest vehicle on display, was a former military truck that has been converted into a camper. This rig is probably able to cross any terrain.

Asked about the rig owner Chris Dickerson said, “It’s a 1998 Stewart Stevenson M1079 Military Truck, it’s called an LMTV. We bought it fresh out of an auction, went through it, replaced the turbo, put Eco Hubs so it removes the Planetary Gears in the axels and we get 12.5 miles to a gallon and can do 70 miles an hour.

“In the back we built it up to be a camper so it’s got 800 watts of solar, 600 amp hours of lithium battery and it’s fully decked out for endless adventures. Took us about a year to build it and we’ve had it for about 14 months now…
