SUN VALLEY, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — Washoe County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) deputies arrested a suspect on multiple felony charges following a traffic stop in Sun Valley on Thursday.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop near E 5th Ave and Lacy Lane around 11 a.m. on Jan. 29. Following an on-scene investigation, Rene Garcia-Montez, 34, was taken into custody for multiple weapons violations and transported to the Washoe County Detention Facility.
Garcia-Montez was booked on the following felony charges:
- Possession of a firearm by a prohibited person
- Altering or obliterating a firearm serial number
- Obtaining or using another person’s personal information for unlawful purposes
