Thirteen years after being shuttered, Nevada softball was reincarnated as a Division I program. On Feb. 7, 2003, the Wolf Pack played its first game since the 1989 season, doing so in the Mustang Roundup in San Luis Obispo, Calif. Nevada opened its 2003 campaign with a 5-4 loss to UC Santa Barbara before winning its second game of the day, a 7-0 victory over Cal Poly.
