Buffalo Wild Wings is making a comeback in Reno nearly a decade after closing its original location, though the experience will look dramatically different from what residents remember. The popular chicken wing chain plans to open its first Buffalo Wild Wings GO concept store in the Biggest Little City this year, bringing a modern, takeout-focused approach to the market.

The new location will open at 1901 Silverada Boulevard at the Silverada Shopping Center in early March, marking a significant shift in how the brand operates within the community. Unlike the traditional sports bar atmosphere that defined the previous Reno location, this streamlined concept caters to changing consumer preferences that emerged and accelerated during recent years.

A smaller footprint with focused offerings

The Buffalo Wild Wings GO concept, which first launched in Atlanta in 2020, features a dramatically reduced footprint compared to traditional locations. These stores typically occupy less than a third of the space required for standard Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants, allowing the company to establish presence in markets where larger locations prove impractical or financially unfeasible.

The reduced square footage comes with a correspondingly trimmed menu that highlights the chain’s most popular items. Customers can expect wings, tenders, burgers and sandwiches rather than the extensive selection available at full-service locations.
