CARSON CITY, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — Most Nevadans have never heard of Silver State Industries and that’s partly by design.
The state-run prison program isn’t allowed to advertise or compete like private businesses. But behind the scenes, it quietly trains inmates for real-world jobs while producing goods that help reduce costs for taxpayers.
Silver State Industries operates inside several Nevada correctional facilities, including the Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City.
