Records are being broken with our latest storm. Over seven inches of snow fell at the Reno Airport on Tuesday alone. An official report of 7.7” breaks the old record of 7.1” set back in 1917 on February 17. While the amount of snow that fell was 7.7 inches, the snow depth when measured came to eight inches.
Snow totals are impressive, not only in the Sierra but also in the lower elevations. The report for Virginia City is from 4 pm on Tuesday.
