Genoa, Nev. — The governor ordered state offices closed across Western Nevada due to the severe weather forecast for today. A winter storm warning for Western Nevada kicked off at 7 a.m. and is expected to last until 4 a.m. Wednesday.

Western Nevada College closed its Carson City campus today but will continue to provide remote services. No need to worry about Douglas schools as they are out for ski week.

The National Weather Service is rating this storm with a four out of five risk level for today both in the Sierra and down in the Western Nevada valleys. The forecast calls for 3-7 inches of snow on the Valley floor with 8-16 inches in the foothills…
