RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Copper thefts and storage unit burglaries are crimes Reno Police Department officers say they see regularly throughout the community.
“Copper is a commonly sold item. A lot of these guys will collect a large amount of copper, sell the copper either in California or somewhere else. To make money off of that, it’s just an easy way for them to make money quick,” says Reno Police Department Public Information Officer Hunter Mercurio.
