Funding shortfall pauses Reno Works program serving unhoused residents

RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — A decade-old workforce development program designed to help people transition out of homelessness is on pause after running out of money midway through the fiscal year.

Reno Works, a partnership between the city of Reno and Volunteers of America, has stopped offering new classes after exhausting its $50,000 city allocation. The most recent class graduated in December, and no spring session is scheduled.
