Lake Tahoe’s beloved Ski Beach is set to be shut down from March 13 through late March while crews carry out a major underwater recovery operation.
Officials say the closure will allow salvage experts to remove a storm-damaged fireworks barge and remaining pyrotechnic materials from the lakebed. This work follows last summer’s dramatic storm that crippled the fireworks platform just days before the Fourth of July celebration.
