Two Million Dollar Price Tag Given on Reno PD Leadership Upheaval, With Concerns About Acting Chief

There was little new information at a press conference today with Acting Reno Police Chief Corey Solferino, who has been moved from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office to take over from Reno PD Chief Kathryn Nance, who is on paid administrative leave with five others over recent misconduct allegations.

Solferino is being paid extra by the City of Reno to take over these duties. A question was asked about the total cost for the City of Reno because of this scandal, to which Reno City Manager Jackie Bryant explained the costs associated with the investigation have yet to be determined. Bryant said there’s a $2 million price tag on getting the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office help, but she said she didn’t expect it to go that high.

She gave no timeline on the investigation by the Nevada Department of Public Safety. The names of the five others have not been disclosed either, to the consternation of many on local social media…
