RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The Keep Music Alive organization is a national initiative that promotes the value of music education and therapy, with activities extending into Nevada. Specifically, Mountain Music Parlor (735 S Center Street, Reno) is taking part in Teach Music Week to offer free music lessons to all ages.
KOLO 8’s Jayde Ryan visit the music store and performance venue to learn more about what they’ll be offering March 17-21. For levels all the way from beginner to confident, students of all ages can enjoy free music lessons on the fiddle, banjo, piano, ukulele and more. She spoke with Renee Lauderback, founder and owner of Mountain Music Parlor, and Denielle Basom, one of the instructors, about what they hope this opportunity provides our community.
