Vintage payphones connect Reno seniors and Boston college students in loneliness experiment

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The project, launched by Matter Neuroscience, connects older adults in Reno with college students in Boston through a pair of restored payphones installed thousands of miles apart.

When someone picks up either receiver, the phone automatically rings on the other end, creating a spontaneous connection between two strangers who likely would never meet otherwise.
