RENO, Nev. (KOLO) -Washoe County and the cities of Reno and Sparks invite residents to attend an informational session about a study to potentially consolidate fire services and integrate fire-based emergency medical services in the region.
Nevada Senate Bill 319, passed in 2025, mandates a regional fire study board to research the viability of consolidating Reno Fire, Sparks Fire, and Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District. The entities hired Emergency Global Solutions (EGS), through a competitive RFP process, to conduct the study, beginning with a public informational session on March 19.
