A 19-year-old man is missing after jumping into the Truckee River, west of Floriston, California. The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office says he was with friends when he jumped into the river and struggled to stay afloat.
A search and rescue operation started Saturday; personnel from the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office Search & Rescue, El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, Truckee Police, Truckee Fire, and a California Highway Patrol helicopter are assisting. The search will continue on Monday if he is not found on Sunday.
