Urging locals to be cautious of fire starts as record high temperatures continue through the weekend

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – As we continue to look at record high temperatures for this coming weekend it’s important to be mindful not to participate in activities that could cause sparks to fly.

After a string of eight days of record-breaking temperatures this past week, Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue is encouraging everyone to have safe practices when engaging in outdoor activities like target shooting or barbecuing.

“We want everybody to enjoy the outdoor environment that we have, enjoy your barbecues. Just be very cognizant of the placement of that barbecue, make sure that it’s out in the open, that it’s not under eaves of a house or patios,” says Adam Mayberry with TMFR…
