May murder trial could be continued

A May trial date hangs in the balance for a woman accused in the first-degree murder trial of Carson City resident Adam Paul Mulkey.

Melissa Nicole Malmstedt appeared in Douglas County District Court on Tuesday for a motions hearing prior to her monthlong trial scheduled to begin May 6.

During a discussion on whether the defense had provided the prosecution with the list of experts, attorney Alexis Duecker said the team is having a hard time getting information as well, raising the possibility the trial would have to be continued.
