As warmer weather and longer days arrive across Northern Nevada, a new effort is underway to help keep children safe as they walk and bike to school.
Western Nevada Safe Routes to School is launching a pedestrian safety campaign that will run through the end of the school year, focusing on Carson, Douglas, Lyon, and Storey counties. The goal is to increase visibility and remind drivers to stay alert as more children use sidewalks and streets.
