Normal Truckee River flows expected through October, despite low snowpack, TMWA says

Truckee Meadows Water Authority officials said Thursday that the region is expected to see normal Truckee River flows through the rest of the water year, even after a winter that produced a much smaller snowpack than usual.

“We’re going to have normal river flows throughout the whole water year through October,” said Kara Steeland, TMWA’s senior hydrologist and watershed coordinator.

Steeland said the Truckee River Basin’s snowpack is well below average this year. “We did have a low snowpack year, we’re at about 21% of average for the Truckee River Basin,” she said…
