The City of Reno, in partnership with several local organizations, is working to raise at least $250,000 to rebuild the Sierra Vista Park shelter, a well-used park amenity destroyed by arson in November 2024.
The shelter previously served families, hikers, mountain bikers, and community groups as a central gathering space for outdoor recreation. Once the project is funded, the new structure will feature a steel frame, fire-resistant roofing, and a concrete foundation to improve long-term safety and durability.
