A Sun Valley man was arrested in connection with a stolen vehicle after a pursuit in Storey County on Saturday.
Storey County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) deputies were alerted to a stolen vehicle out of Washoe County traveling in the area of I-80 and Lockwood, around 11 a.m. on April 11. Dispatch advised the driver was also a suspect in a domestic battery and may be armed.
Authorities say a deputy observed the vehicle traveling east bound on I-80 and exit the freeway near Patrick, eventually traveling on Waltham Way in the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center.
The deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle. The vehicle came to a stop, and the deputy attempted to get the driver to exit the vehicle. Authorities say the driver failed to comply with commands and drove away. The deputy pursued, while the driver actively attempted to evade. The driver was observed traveling at a high rate of speed, continuing southbound on USA Parkway from Waltham Way. The driver failed to stop for several traffic lights, drove recklessly, and eventually exited USA Parkway onto private property, where he rammed his vehicle through two locked gates…
