RENO, NV (May 10) — There were several car meets plus a block party on this weekend. All the events were blessed with almost summer like weather.
• Friday started the two-day Hot August Nights Spring Fever. Everything was in the Casino’s west parking lot.
There was a long row of vendors selling about anything people might want. That included HAN t-shirts and other things as well.
Over at one end was a dragster, which was a ’41 Willys and next to it was a very nice T-Bucket. Not far away was a stand the featured continues entertainment
Over in the next row were a pair of restored Chevy’s. One was a two-door sedan while the other an early Nomad station wagon.
• Saturday afternoon Big Valley Honda hosted a block part for the upcoming Stadium GP. Radio station KOZZ with DJ Max Volume was also at the party.
One of the vendors not only brought but also a dragster. Starting it up and revving the motor was a delight for one youngster.
Promoter Tina Honea was also present and there was a canopy that featured some of the types of bike racing in the event.
Asked about the event she said, “Registration is going great, we already have a couple of classes completely full so we have a waiting list for them. The big thing is that the kids are showing up this year, a lot more kids…
