Ashland woman reunites with doctors who saved her life after shark attack

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – An Ashland woman returned to Chippenham Hospital Wednesday night to reunite with the medical team who saved her life after a shark attack two years ago.

Elisabeth Foley was attacked and bitten by a shark during a family vacation in Florida in June 2024. She lost her left hand and suffered severe injuries to her midsection.

Foley underwent 18 surgeries in 44 days and faced a long recovery process. She was first treated at an HCA hospital in Florida before being transported to Chippenham Hospital…
