CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WWBT) – Within the walls of Swift Creek Mill Theatre in Chesterfield, planning is taking center stage as the organization figures out the next steps after pausing operations amid financial troubles.
“We’re at the halfway point between when we announced and when we hope to have a final plan in place for the board of directors to vote on,” said Steven Koehler, managing director at Swift Creek Mill Theatre.
Koehler said the theatre has raised just under $100,000 since announcing the pause.
“The majority of that went to pay those final payrolls and to keep the lights on and also to start the work as we start to rebuild our business plan,” he said.
