Chesterfield officers hospitalized after May shooting return home

CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WWBT) – The Chesterfield County Police Department ais sharing an update on the two officers injured in an officer-involved shooting last May.

The shooting unfolded around 4:40 p.m. Sunday, May 31 at a home in the 12900 block of Gumfork Place. Police say a woman called for help, saying her son was shooting his gun inside the home during a domestic situation.

When officers arrived and got inside, the suspect, later identified as Gary G. Shaw, 65, had a pistol and long gun and shot multiple times, hitting the two officers and killing a police K-9 later identified as K-9 Knight, investigators said…
