ASHLAND, Va. (WWBT) – A local heating and cooling company has responded to more than 300 service calls since the current heat wave began, and that number is expected to grow before temperatures ease Sunday.
Gilman Heating, Cooling & Plumbing has added extra crews to handle the surge in demand. The company’s president, Andrew Hancock, said the extreme heat is pushing AC units to their limits.
“Just a ton of service calls coming in. Breakdowns, electrical component failures because of the heat. The parts just can’t take the temperature. And the extended run times. We’re seeing a lot of dirty filters — clients don’t realize how much of an impact that has on their unit,” Hancock said…
