ROTTERDAM — A fourth grader has died after a car crash that occurred as he and his family headed home from Myrtle Beach, S.C., last week, his family and Schalmont school officials said.
Davin Yap, 9, of Rotterdam, died Sunday and will donate his organs to other children, his family announced in a GoFundMe fundraiser.
“He’s going to give the gift of life to other people,” his aunt Kelli Trippany said in a phone interview Monday. “To us, he’ll always be a hero. That’s how we’re going to cherish his memory.”…
