Richmond small businesses plead for community support amid rising costs, fewer customers

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – Richmond small businesses say they are facing rising operating costs and declining customer traffic, prompting some to turn to social media to ask the community for help.

Ellyn Hopper, owner of Fat Rabbit bakery and coffee shop in Union Hill, said the business has always operated on slim profit margins since she moved into the space nearly four years ago.
