RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Many Richmond residents are pushing for a referendum on “Code Refresh,” the city’s proposed overhaul of its 50-year-old zoning ordinance. Some said voters should have the final say on sweeping changes that could reshape neighborhoods across the city.
During a meeting hosted by the Richmond Civic League the evening of Tuesday, July 21, dozens of Richmond residents gathered to voice concerns about “Code Refresh” — the city’s first comprehensive rewrite of its zoning code since 1976.
