Richmond cyclist in hospital after police say they ran a red light, causing crash

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A Richmond cyclist is in the hospital Wednesday night after police say they ran a red light, causing a crash.

Just before 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to the intersection of N. Shields and Floyd avenues for report of a crash involving a cyclist.

Details on this crash are limited at this time. However, police told 8News that it’s believed the cyclist ran a red light and was then hit by a vehicle.
