RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — This week, Hanover County native and three-time Grammy winner Lucy Dacus was in town for a special screening of her newest music video “Planting Tomatoes” at the Byrd Theatre, which was followed by a Q&A moderated by SPARC’s Paul Major.Dozens of SPARC students appeared in Dacus’ recent video, which was directed by her and filmed entirely in Richmond. The video featured places such as Dogwood Dell, Hollywood Cemetery and Pony Pasture.
SPARC students, fans, family and friends attended the Byrd on Thursday, July 30, where students had pre-submitted questions for Dacus, which were read aloud by Major in front of a packed theater.
Dacus answered questions about creating the vision for the music video and Richmond’s impact and connection to the city and SPARC.
