HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Hanover County Planning Commission is backing a large-scale technology park that would accommodate multiple data centers up to 75 feet tall despite pushback from residents and neighbors.
The planning commission voted 5-2 at its Thursday, Aug. 20 meeting to send the Iron Horse data center campus along State Route 54 to the county’s Board of Supervisors for approval.
The proposed site would sit within the town of Ashland and unincorporated Hanover County. Iron Horse data centers and supporting infrastructure would be in Ashland, while up to 599 residential units and 335,200 square feet of commercial space would be in Hanover, according to documents filed with the county…
