VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — After preliminary hearings Thursday, charges for two of the three people arrested after an Oceanfront gunfight earlier this year will go before a grand jury.
The clash erupted on Atlantic Avenue between 14th and 15th streets Saturday, April 11. Two groups were walking toward each other on the sidewalk. One group was from Richmond and the other was from Lancaster, Va. According to court testimony, a member of the Richmond group threw a punch and then guns came out on both sides.

Two members of the Richmond group, Isaiah Charity and Jamya Williams, both 19, each face more than 20 felony counts. They had a preliminary hearing Thursday before Judge Sandra Menago, who certified the charges to the grand jury — those charges include malicious assault with serious injury and various gun charges.
A third suspect, Ja’Quarrias Morris of Lancaster, faces similar charges. He testified against Charity and Williams. Morris described how he got shot in the leg and fired nine times from his .45 Glock. Morris told the court he fired only after he was hit by a bullet in the leg…
