RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — TForce Freight will demolish its former headquarters in Richmond’s Manchester area five years after the Canadian-based company acquired the building as part of an $800 million buyout of UPS Freight.
The freight forwarding service’s former headquarters at 1000 Semmes Ave. in the city’s Manchester area is headed for demolition, according to a permit submitted on Thursday. The timeline of the demolition is unclear at this time.
“All existing building structures to be demolished,” the permit reads. “Note: all concrete slabs, foundations, asphalt paving, sidewalks, etc. shall remain in place.”
According to UPS’ website, TFI International, a Canadian-based transport and logistics company, acquired the building on Semmes Avenue in April 2021 as part of a $800 million buyout of UPS Freight, which was headquartered at the Manchester site…
