The 2026 Richmond Folk Festival poster is out and this year’s is a love letter to Richmond.
Why it matters: The annual Folk Festival poster has become almost as much a tradition as the festival itself.
- For more than two decades, the festival has tapped Richmond artists and designers to put their own spin on the festival with a poster.
Driving the news: This year’s poster was created by artist Christian Taylor, who told festival organizer Venture Richmond he envisioned a whimsical “flying circus” to represent the magic of festival weekend.
Zoom in: If you look closely, you’ll spot:
- The arches of the CSX A-Line bridge
- The Altria Theater’s turrets
- Dogs in a rowboat
- And, perhaps most Richmond of all, Francine snoozing on a cloud — as she should be
What they’re saying: “I just hope that I captured the spirit of Richmond in a decent way and I’ll make be able to make people crack a smile every time they discover a new detail in the design,” Taylor told Venture…
