Pastor Gino Jennings is controversial
On June 3, 2023, Pastor Gino Jennings spoke at a church in Richmond, Virginia, and referred to the River City as wicked. There was an immediate silence from the audience, but he explained that every city he had preached in was wicked because the whole world was wicked.
This is pastor Jennings’s method of operation. He is controversial, tackles tough subjects, has an in-your-face manner, and causes offense but he has the right to free speech according to the constitution.
,Jennings calls out TD Jakes
The pastor is in the hot seat again for calling TD Jake a liar and saying preachers were running Sesame Street versions of church. In the following video, he says that some ministries have Big Bird for Bishops, Oscar the Grouch in the trash can on the board, Grover for elders, and Snuffleufogus for Deacons. The Congresional Black Caucus wrote Jennings letters asking that he sit down and talk with Jakes.

No response from the Jakes team
Initially Pastor Gino Jennings was going to tear up the letters but now says he wants to discuss the situation using the scripture. He said if the Black Caucus was wrong he would get them with the Bible. There has been no response at this point from anyone representing Bishop TD Jakes.
