15-year-old girl shot in Petersburg, fighting for life in local hospital

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — A 15-year-old girl has been hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after being shot in Petersburg, according to the Petersburg Bureau of Police.

At 11:48 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 25, officers responded to Crater Square Apartments on the 1000 block of S. Crater Road after receiving reports of a person shot.

When they arrived at the scene, officers found a 15-year-old girl with a gunshot wound. Her injuries were considered life-threatening and she was taken to a local hospital, according to police.
