Police: Man runs from scene of bank robbery, officers launch investigation in Petersburg

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — The Petersburg Bureau of Police has announced that officers are investigating a bank robbery that occurred along South Crater Road.

The robbery happened at the Bank of Southside Virginia along the 2700 block of South Crater Road, according to police.

The suspect, pictured below, was described by police as being a light-complexioned Black man wearing a light-colored hoodie, dark jacket and face mask. He allegedly fled the area west on Oak Hill Road.

Anyone who may have seen the suspect was asked to not approach him and to instead contact the police at 804-732-4222.
