Richmond ‘gun hole’ becomes latest viral attraction

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – Richmond’s “gun hole,” is the city’s latest must-see attraction, drawing attention both online and in person.

A sidewalk indentation shaped like a gun can be found in the Fan District neighborhood, specifically on Addison Street between Cary Street and Main Street.

Since then, it has been compared to the infamous Chicago rat-hole , garnering its very own local buzz.

Though it’s been acclaimed by many passersby, even adorned as a shrine with local memorabilia and miscellaneous offerings, not everyone is pleased with its rise to fame. Residents nearby have stated concern over the crowds the gun-hole is attracting to an otherwise quiet neighborhood.

It is unclear whether or not the city will fill in the hole or let it continue to be an unofficial Richmond staple.
