The Science Museum of Virginia is getting ready to ‘GLOW’

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Science Museum of Virginia is getting ready for a night full of fun, illuminating activities.

GLOW will feature glow dance parties, glow games, live science demonstrations and more. The event, which used to be called Science After Dark, has extended its hours from 2 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3.

“GLOW is one of our favorite activities, and we used to do it in three hours, and we just have so much fun we couldn’t pack it in, so we’ve expanded it,” Timshel Purdum, deputy director for education told 8News. “I think what makes it so unique is, not only do we have fun with things like glowsticks and ultraviolet, [but] that we bring the science to it. It’s not just fun, it’s science fun.”

Visitors will also be able to take a journey through space with astronomers in The Dome at 3, 4, 6 and 7 p.m. Seating is first come, first served.

Food options, including River City Wood Fire Pizza and Goatocado, will be available and all GLOW activities are included in general admission.
