Police: Chesterfield woman hospitalized after being shot by suspected family member

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A woman has been hospitalized after being shot by a suspected family member, according to Chesterfield County Police Department.

Shortly after 1 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 4, Chesterfield police responded to the 7100 block of Omalley Drive for a reported shooting.

When officers arrived on scene, they found that a woman had been transported to a local hospital by a family member for a gunshot wound.

According to police, the woman was later moved to Chippenham Hospital for more advanced treatment of the gunshot wound, and is expected to survive.

While at the home, officers arrested the suspect who is also a family member of the victim.
