Attempted robbery at Truist Bank in Petersburg launches police investigation

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — An attempted robbery occurred Monday afternoon at Truist Bank in Petersburg, launching an investigation by police .

The Petersburg Bureau of Police said the attempted robbery occurred at the bank, located at 117 East Washington Street.

The suspect, who police described as wearing blue jeans, a black hoodie, black surgical mask and black beanie with “Virginia” in red lettering, was captured by security cameras during the incident.
