Cities and towns that are considered dangerous in Virginia like beauty are in the eyes of the beholder. Different surveys yield varied results but some names were on all the lists.
The following are the 10 locations in Virginia that Property Club lists as the most dangerous in order. Portsmouth, Emporia, Galax, South Boston, Norfolk, Richmond, Fredericksburg, Danville, Petersburg and Newport News.
Richmond ranks number 1 in 3 studies
West Palm Beach News listed Richmond as the most dangerous city in the Commonwealth in October 2023 and The Movoto Real Estate Blog also places the River City at the top of its list as Virginia’s most dangerous location. the other 9 are Norfolk, Portsmouth, Roanoke, Petersburg, Fredericksburg, Hopewell, Bristol, Danville, and Newport News.
AZ Animals lists 13 localities in the state that are considered the worst. They are Richmond, Norfolk, Portsmouth, South Boston, Roanoke, Fredericksburg, Hopewell, Petersburg, Bristol, Newport News, Danville, and Franklin.
