RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – The Richmond and Henrico Health Districts (RHHD) commemorated National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on Wednesday. Approximately 1.2 million people in the U.S. are living with HIV. As of 2021, Black people accounted for about 40 percent of cases, despite only making up 14 percent of the U.S. population.
