According to WRIC 8 News, a Chesterfield, Virginia couple celebrated 70 years of marriage on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, just one week before Valentine’s Day on February 14.

According to their daughter, Wendy Booker, her parents Horace and Juanita Poulston met after Juanita’s friends bet her that she couldn’t get Horace to go out with her. Juanita won the bet, and she and Horace have been together ever since.
The couple celebrated their 70th anniversary surrounded by friends and family at Pocahontas State Park as seen in the above photo provided by Booker.
Secret to 70 years of marriage
Booker said the secret to Horace and Juanita’s long marriage is communication. She said her parents discuss everything at the kitchen table.
