Eight-vehicle ‘chain reaction style’ crash on I-95 South in Richmond hospitalizes two

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — An eight-vehicle “chain reaction style” crash involving a tractor trailer on Interstate 95 South in Richmond has hospitalized two, according to Virginia State Police.

This crash was reported by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) around 4:45 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12. It occurred just before the I-95/I-64/I-195 interchange.

At the time of reporting, this incident is still causing delays on the roadway as emergency crews continue to work the scene.

According to state police, this overall crash was a “chain reaction” of crashes involving one tractor trailer and seven other vehicles.

Two people were hospitalized with injuries not considered life-threatening.

No other information is known at this time.
