Burst of hail hits Richmond metro area overnight

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Richmond metro area experienced some heavy rain, and even hail, overnight and in the wee hours of the morning on Tuesday, Feb. 13.

Video captured around 12:30 a.m. on Midlothian Turnpike in Richmond showed a sudden burst of hail and rain that affected road conditions for a time.

8News viewers also shared the following images of hail in Chesterfield County shortly before 1 a.m. They said the sound of the storm made their house “feel like it was rumbling.”

As the shower system departs this morning, StormTracker8 meteorologists predict wind will pick up to a blustery 20 to 30 mph.
