Petersburg Police investigating report of shots fired on South Crater Road

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — The Petersburg Bureau of Police is investigating a section of South Crater Road for a report of shots fired following a fight.

On Wednesday, Feb. 14 at around 4 p.m., Petersburg police responded to the 1000 block of South Crater Road for the report of multiple shots fired.

According to officials, police responded to a call regarding a fight that was followed by dozens of gun shots in the area. The scene was taped off at the Crater Square apartment complex as police continued to investigate.

No one was reported to be hit or injured, however damage was caused to buildings, houses and cars in the area. According to police, power lines across the street were also knocked out by the gunfire, impacting homes in the area.
