According to WTVR 6 News, an 89-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man got married at Morningside, a Virginia assisted living home located at 3000 Skipwith Road, Henrico, Virginia 23294.
Bride’s reaction
Gloria Kirby said a friend introduced her to Randy Wray when he moved into the facility a year ago. She said she immediately liked what she saw in Randy.
Kirby also said:
“We just got acquainted. He’s a very kind man, thoughtful and considerate.”
Groom’s reaction
Wray said just moments before the ceremony on Saturday afternoon, February 10, 2024, his heart “was jumping” as he thought about marrying his “Pumpkin.”
Wray also said:
“I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her. Because I never thought I’d find love again, I gave up.”
Planning and hosting the wedding
Brittany Volz, the Activities Director at Morningside in the West End, called the love the pair have for one another “undeniable.” She noted, “They take such good care of each other and truly put each other first.”
